DESCRIPTION:The Lamar Civitan Club invites the community to its annual Jim Newsome Silverfox Memorial Golf Tournament\, returning to Governor’s Run Golf Club this October. \nFestivities kick off with an evening reception on Thursday\, October 15\, 2026\, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat-and-drink experience for just $30 per ticket\, making it an easy and affordable way to kick off tournament weekend with friends and neighbors. \nThe main event — the golf tournament itself — tees off the following morning on Friday\, October 16\, 2026\, at 11:00 AM at Governor’s Run Golf Club. \nProceeds from the tournament go directly back into the Lamar community\, supporting: \n\nLamar High School Athletics\nScholarship recipients\nLocal youth programs\nThe Town of Lamar Veterans Memorial\nThe Lamar Beautification Program\n\nThe Civitan Club also extended special thanks to Carolina Bank\, which has proudly sponsored the tournament for more than 20 years. \nWhether you’re a golfer looking to compete or simply want to support local youth\, veterans\, and community beautification efforts\, this is a great way to give back while enjoying a fun evening and a day on the greens. \nShare
