Municipal Court

Established by Town Council, Lamar Municipal Court is part of the South Carolina unified judicial system.  This unified system is under the order and authority of the South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice.   The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over cases arising under ordinances of the municipality, and over all offenses which are subject to a fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment not exceeding 30 days, or both, and which occur within the municipality. Most traffic offenses are processed in this court.

Judge Craig L. La Cross presides over the court, which is held the third Monday of each month beginning at 1:30 PM. Court is held at the Lamar Town Hall, 117 W. Main Street, Lamar, SC 29069.
