ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Zion Road Pump Station Rehab/Upgrades will be received by the Town of Lamar at their office at 117 Main Street, Lamar, SC 29069, until 2:00 PM local time on May 12, 2022, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and clearly marked on the outside for easy identification by the Owner and the Engineer.  Bids Submitted by mail, Federal Express, United Parcel Service, etc. must meet these same requirements and should be addressed to:

The Project consists of:

The replacement of suction lift pumps, valves, piping, panels, minor building repairs, coating of the wet well and the addition of a stand-by engine pump. Also, the cleaning/TV and rehabilitation of the adjacent 500 lf of gravity sewer.

Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.

All Bidders shall be registered Document Holders with Davis & Floyd, Inc.  Electronic copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by emailing documents-FLO@davisfloyd.com.  Hard copies of the plans and specs will also be available by a request in writing to Davis & Floyd Inc., 181 E. Evans St., Suite 23, Florence, SC, 29506.  Bidders must submit a valid e-mail address, company name, physical address, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers with a company contact (name) with this request for documents to be considered on the official list of bidders.

There is no fee for plans and specs that are obtained electronically by emailing  documents-FLO@davisfloyd.com.  A non-refundable fee of $300.00 will be required for each hard copy set of Drawings and other Contract Documents taken.

Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of the Owner, Town of Lamar, 117 Main Street, Lamar, SC 29069; and at the office of the Engineer, Davis & Floyd, Inc. 181 E. Evans St., Suite 23, Florence, SC 29506.

Each bid must be accompanied by a 5% bid security in the proper form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders.  A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of each successful bidder.

In accordance with Section 40-11-100 of the SC Code, bids will be accepted only from properly licensed contractors for all general contracts costing $30,000 or more and all mechanical contracts costing $17,500 or more.

This project is being funded by the Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA).

All bidders must comply with all applicable state and federal requirements identified in the bid documents.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the actual bid opening date.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bidding and to reject all Bids if it is in the Owner’s best interest to do so.
