2026 Jim Newsome Silverfox Memorial Golf Tournament

The Lamar Civitan Club invites the community to its annual Jim Newsome Silverfox Memorial Golf Tournament, returning to Governor’s Run Golf Club this October.

Festivities kick off with an evening reception on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat-and-drink experience for just $30 per ticket, making it an easy and affordable way to kick off tournament weekend with friends and neighbors.

The main event — the golf tournament itself — tees off the following morning on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Governor’s Run Golf Club.

Proceeds from the tournament go directly back into the Lamar community, supporting:

• Lamar High School Athletics
• Scholarship recipients
• Local youth programs
• The Town of Lamar Veterans Memorial
• The Lamar Beautification Program

The Civitan Club also extended special thanks to Carolina Bank, which has proudly sponsored the tournament for more than 20 years.
