Martin Luther King Jr Day Observance Program
The Town of Lamar invites t
he community to come together for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day Observance Program on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
The program will be held at Bethany Baptist Church, located at 205 W. Pearl Street in Lamar, and will honor the life, legacy, and enduring message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year’s observance will feature a keynote address by Rev. Amari B. Hooker, Pastor of the Wesley Chapel / Lake City UMC Charge, offering reflections on service, unity, and justice. The program will also include a special musical presentation by violinist Tyquan Coe, adding a meaningful artistic element to the morning.
Residents, families, and visitors are encouraged to attend this reflective and inspiring event as the Town of Lamar commemorates MLK Day and continues the call to build a stronger, more inclusive community.
