FREE LAPTOP & WEEKLY STIPEND FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Note: We previously posted this program as being a part of the Darlington County Community Action Agency, however there was miscommunication. While the DCCAA is a partner in the program, Darlington County Strengthening Families Program is spearheading this program for students. The below has been amended to reflect proper steps students should take if they are interested in participating. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Do you have children or know of any high school students (grades 9-12) looking for employment and a FREE laptop?
The Darlington County Strengthening Families Program has a program for students to receive a FREE laptop and professional development sessions.
Attendance of weekly professional development sessions for 30-40 minutes provides students with a weekly stipend.
Requirements/Documents needed:
- ID Card
- High School Enrollment Verification
- Social Security Cards for household members
- Proof of Household Income
Session topics:
- Character Development
- Financial Literacy
- Academic Support
- Life Skills Development
- Etc.
If you are a student that is interested in participating in the program, please contact the Guidance Counselor of the school that you attend. Guidance Counselors will aid in the steps for students to take to participate in the program. It is first come, first serve so please act quickly if you are interested!
